Rotary donates to feed first responders
In March of this year, Covid 19 became a world wide pandemic. While the United States went home for three months and sheltered in place to slow the spread of the infection, those on the front lines became our bravest heroes. Sometimes living in the hospitals, working days and weeks at a time with no break or chance to see their own families, the nurses and doctors helped to slow the virus while the rest of the world came to a halt.

Our newest member, MinDee Richard came up with an idea for Rotary to help where they could. During the peak of the epidemic, Jen Bussey hired local small businesses in Hammond to cook and deliver lunch for those on the front lines at the Franciscan Hospital Hammond Campus.

Overwhelmed with appreciation, the staff sent us many pictures and letters of thanks for making one part of their hectic day, bearable. They showed us the true meaning of service above self, and we are forever grateful for the service they provided to keep the community safe.
